Sunday's closing thoughts from Davenport

It appears that technical difficulties were everywhere today.  Ours are in the A/V department, while we haven't fixed the original problem, we have a working solution (plan D) in place.  It should make for lasting memories.

Everyone pitched in wonderfully today and the church was decorated beautifully and in record time.  Then it was on to practice.  The skit team of Kristen, Daniel, Owen, Tilor, Jeremy and Diane worked long and hard and are ready for Monday.  Pastor Ted worked the "magic can" to perfection and had us all laughing as we yelled and screamed when he lifted and lowered the garbage can lid.

A wonderful meal of Lasagna (pasta!), Baked Spaghetti (pasta!) and Baked Ziti (pasta!) was served by our gracious hosts.  I was thinking I was in Italian heaven until I saw the Garlic Bread, then I knew I was.  After the meal one of the returning students from Davenport's youth mission trip (returned Saturday night at midnight) to Mexico shared her experience in helping build a house for a deserving family in East Tijuana.  If I remember the dimensions correctly, the house is 11' x 22' and it is nearly double the size of their previous home.  Sets things in perspective.

Time now for much needed rest as the day has claimed its first casualty.

Good night from Davenport and thank you for all your prayers.
